I have several proposals that are lower, why should I accept yours?
When you have several proposals, you need to compare them carefully. Many times there are significant differences. You will want to carefully consider the brand of equipment, the efficiencies, the warranties, if the work that is included on the proposal is the same, and the Company itself. Remember, this is a long term investment you will have to live with for some time.

Why should I buy name brand equipment?
Established name brand equipment is important to consider because of product notoriety and reputation, research and development, solid support, pro-active equipment updates, and factory-sponsored training programs.

Why is your company better than other companies?
Ordinarily, an older more established company has a better record of customer satisfaction and support. We are committed to our customers satisfaction. We keep a complete record of our customer's equipment and service history. Our technicians are factory trained and pay attention to details. When called for service, we don't just repair the problem, but check the entire system.

What is Energy Star?
Energy Star stands for high efficiency and energy savings. Our Company has several furnaces and air conditioners that are Energy Star labeled. They meet or exceed the minimum efficiency for the EPA's Energy Star labeled equipment.

Heating & Air Conditioning:

Do you set the furnace directly on the floor?
Depending on the installation, the furnace is set on bricks or suspended from rafters.

Why is sealed combustion important?
Sealed combustion brings in outdoor air into the furnace for combustion, not from the home burning up the air you spent money to heat.

How long does a typical furnace replacement take?
A typical furnace replacement takes one day.
You will experience a minimum amount of time being without heat.

Why is efficiency so important?
With high utility costs, energy efficient equipment will cost less to operate.

What is a chimney liner?
When you decided on a high efficiency gas furnace your chimney became oversized for your water heater alone. Gas fired heating appliances produce low temperature, high moisture content flue gas which collects as condensate on the inside of an oversized chimney. This can cause deterioration of your chimney.

I don't have a floor drain, how are you going to get rid of the water from condensation with my high efficiency furnace?
A condensate pump, and pump the water to a trap.

What can I do to make sure my furnace and air conditioner are running efficiently?
Initially, check your filters, make sure the outside condensing unit is free of debris. However, to maintain peak equipment efficiency, routine annual professional service is recommended.

How often do I need to check and replace my air filter?
This will depend on the type of air filter you have. You should check your disposable filter every month. If you hold it up to a light, you should be able to see through it. If not, your filter needs replacing. If you have a media type filter, ordinarily once a year, but it depends on your lifestyle (such as pets, someone who smokes, etc.). The Filter Story

Do you set the outside unit for the air conditioner on the ground?
We set the outdoor unit on a durable weather resistant air conditioner pad/base.

What if my equipment makes a noise I am not familiar with or it doesn't appear to be operating in the same manner as it did before?
You should call our office. Our people who answer the telephone, are trained to answer your questions and will dispatch a Service Technician if necessary. If you let the situation go, you may have a breakdown in the future.

How long will my new equipment last?
It depends on how well the equipment is serviced. If the equipment is maintained on an annual basis, according to the manufacturer's instruction, it should last about twenty years.

What is the warranty on your furnaces and air conditioners?
Depending on the equipment, warranty ranges from one to ten years. Our Comfort Consultant will advise you of the warranty for the equipment you purchase. Extended warranties may be purchased for most major equipment. In our area, we loose electrical power often and have no heat.

What can we do, so we will have heat?
You could consider installing a gas fireplace, stove or insert. Our decorative gas units do not need power to operate and can supply up to 40,000 btu of heat an hour.

What if after the installation, I am not happy or I didn't get what I thought I was getting?
Call our office immediately and discuss your concerns with us. We will work with you to resolve your concerns. We want our Customers to be happy with their system and our Company. Air Treatment Products

Why did you recommend a humidifier?
We recommended humidification for several reasons. With proper humidification, your home will feel warmer and there is no better way to protect your home and wood furnishings. Also, if you are not reaching the correct levels of humidity, you could be exposing your family to the physical aggravations of dryness, such as nose, throat, and skin discomfort.

We had a humidifier in the past and it constantly limed up and would leak. Why would I want a humidifier again?
Due to newer technology, our humidifier distributes moisture as a pure water vapor, there are no water droplets or mist that can carry impurities, like minerals or bacteria. In other humidifiers or older humidifiers, minerals can build up in the unit and cause malfunction, requiring costly service. Our humidifier ensures that these elements are either deposited on the replaceable water panel or flushed down the drain.

How will I know where to set the control?
Our humidifiers are automatically controlled to ensure the optimum level of indoor humidification. Until now you had to do the thinking for your humidifier, checking the outside temperature and making manual adjustments as the temperature changed. Our humidifiers measure changes regarding indoor humidity and outdoor temperature and adjusts itself automatically to provide optimum humidity levels.

Why did you include a media air filter?
Doesn't the furnace come with a disposable filter?
There are several reasons we automatically include a media air filter. A media air filter captures more airborne particles from the air passing through it than a disposable filter. This provides better air quality in your home and helps maintain the efficiency on your equipment. Also, our customer does not need to check their filter every month. The media will last six months to a year depending on the household. The Filter Story.

You recommended a heat recovery ventilator to bring fresh air into my home. Why does my home need fresh air?
This is an indoor air quality issue. Since the 1970s, homes have been built in a more energy efficient manner with higher insulation levels, virtually eliminating all air leaks. They are so well built and air tight that it is almost impossible for fresh air to enter naturally and circulate. As a result, pollutants and moisture build up in the old, stale, static air causing harm to people. A heat recovery ventilator efficiently exhausts the stale air, along with toxins, viruses, and chemicals released from building materials while simultaneously bringing in fresh air into the home.

Zoning and Temperature Controls:

What is zoning?
Imagine the inconvenience of having just one light switch for your entire home. Either the lights are all on or all off. One centrally located thermostat controls the comfort of your entire home, not taking into account the various hot or cold spots throughout your home. With a zone system we can divide your home up in to easy to regulate areas called zones. Different temperatures can be set in each zone for different times of days or seasons of the year. This provides maximize comfort, greater level of control, and energy savings of up to 30%.

Why would I want a programmable thermostat?
A programmable thermostat lets you maximize the comfort in your home without the bother of constantly adjusting your thermostat manually. Your energy savings could be up to 22% depending on home size, frequency of temperature changes, and the range of degrees you setback.

Is the location of the thermostat important?
Yes, a great deal of consideration should be given to the optimum location of the thermostat control. Remember, with a single zone system, the thermostat is sensing the temperature in one location and telling the equipment to deliver the air everywhere in the home. If possible, find an area isolated from adverse effects of outside walls and doors, drafts, traffic areas, direct sunlight, air registers, etc.
